The Brookline Recreation Department is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Head Coach to lead the Dolphins Swim Team, a competitive program serving swimmers ages 6–18. This is a part-time, year-round position encompassing the winter competitive season from October through March, a spring session from March through June, and a summer session from July through August.
Team practices are held Monday through Thursday between 5:00 and 8:00 p.m., with competitive swim meets generally scheduled on weekends. The Head Coach will design and administer a comprehensive, year-round training plan that supports swimmer development, team growth, and competitive success.
The Head Coach is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Dolphins Swim Team, including supervising and supporting assistant coaches, developing and administering practices and workouts, and preparing meet lineups. Additional responsibilities include overseeing the operation of the Colorado Timing System, serving as Meet Director for all home swim meets, coordinating and managing parent volunteers, and completing other duties related to the successful operation of the program. The Head Coach will work closely with department supervisors and full-time Recreation staff to ensure the program is organized, safe, and aligned with departmental goals.
Candidates must be at least 21 years old and have a minimum of three years of experience coaching a competitive age-group, club, or USA Swimming team. Experience with the Colorado Timing System, TeamUnify, and Team Manager/Meet Manager software is preferred.
The starting rate for this position is $22.00 per hour.
