Beach & Program Manager

The Town of Plymouth is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Beach & Program Manager for the Recreation Division.

Responsibilities include; plan and develop recreation programs, events, and classes. Schedule and coordinate fields, beaches, Memorial Hall, and other facilities. Create revenue-generating programs for youths, adults, preschoolers, and special needs population. Recommend and purchase equipment, supplies, and program materials. Oversee daily operation of all Town beaches ensuring public safety and compliance. Hire and train seasonal staff. Develop staff schedules, approve time-off, and ensure adequate beach staffing. Monitor waterfronts for safety concerns, perform rescues, and direct emergency response as needed. Monitors shark sightings, weather, and emergency procedures. Oversees maintenance and cleanliness of beach facilities, signage, and safety equipment. Complete and maintain reports and documents related to beach operations.

Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Physical Education, Sports Management, or related field. Three to five years of supervisory experience in a municipal recreation setting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Licenses/Certifications: Red Cross lifeguard training, lifeguard instructor certification, water safety instructor training, standard first aid certification; CPR/Basic life support rescuer, MA Class D License. A complete job description is available in the Human Resources Department.
