Director of Parks & Recreation – Town of Acton

The Town of Acton is hiring a Director of Parks & Recreation to manage all parks, recreation facilities, programs, and events—including NARA Park operations. This position oversees staff, budgeting, facility rentals, program development, partnerships, grants, and major planning initiatives. The Director also serves as the main liaison to the Recreation Commission and helps lead community outreach.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Parks & Recreation or related field

• 5+ years of recreation, facility, and supervisory experience (or equivalent)

• Strong administrative and budgeting skills

• Valid MA driver’s license

• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and special events

• CPR/First Aid/AED, waterfront safety, ServSafe, and after-school program certifications (or ability to obtain shortly after hire)

Preferred: Experience managing revenue-generating operations; CPRE certification.

Pay & Benefits:
Salary range: $92,340–$103,930.
36-hour work week, hybrid/flex schedule after 6 months, health/dental/vision benefits, pension, and up to $425 fitness reimbursement.
