The Town of Danvers welcomes applicants for the full-time, benefited position of Assistant Director of the Child Care Program. The Town of Danvers is a reputable Town on the North Shore, providing a supportive and welcoming environment for all Town staff, including a commitment to professional development and policies that promote and support a healthy work/life balance. The Assistant Director oversees 5 licensed after school sites, training and development of site coordinators, group leaders, and assistant group leaders.  The position assists in the management and recruitment of staff and requires the ability to exercise independent judgment. The position also oversees a summer recreational program in an administrator role. 

The Town will consider any combination of relevant work experience, volunteerism, education, and transferable skills as qualifying unless an item in the qualification section of the job description is labeled required.

 

Associate’s degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Recreation Management or similar is required, a bachelor’s degree is preferred. Minimum of two (2) years of school-aged childcare experience of which at least one (1) year is supervising staff working with school-aged children is required. Must be 21 years old at hire. Required to successfully pass a CORI, DCF background check, SORI and Fingerprinting. CPR & First Aid certifications are required. Valid driver’s license is required.

 

This position works 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Non-Union pay scale starting at $58,163.04 with the ability to move through the pay scale via step system to a maximum of $ 70,850.52 Hiring range DOQ. Excellent benefits including full insurance, participation in the Town’s retirement plan, and paid time off.
