Recreation Specialist

What You’ll Do:

As our Recreation Specialist, you’ll help shape a variety of recreational activities and community events for youth, adults, and seniors, including:

• Youth and adult sports leagues
• Specialty programs, summer camps, and exercise groups
• Concerts, movies in the park, and seasonal celebrations
• Trips and events for all ages

You’ll also assist in recruiting and supervising staff, managing day-to-day operations at the Recreation Center, and helping market our programs through social media, brochures, and community outreach.

• Creative programming ideas and a passion for community engagement
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
• Excellent communication skills with people of all ages
• Comfortable working flexible hours—including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in sports management, recreation and leisure, or related field, plus 1-3 years of related experience.  A valid driver’s license is required, and a Red Cross First Aid/AED/CPR certification is required within 3 months of employment.

Pay and Benefits:

This full-time position offers a competitive pay range of $25.49- $31.76 per hour and will also receive an attractive benefits package which includes low deductible/low-cost health insurance, low-cost dental insurance, State of NH Group I retirement, and other benefits such as life insurance, disability, and paid time off.  Municipal employees may also qualify for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) Program.
