The Program Specialist 3 works in the Recreation and Youth Department as a resource for planning, designing, organizing and scheduling recreational programs for all ages. Incumbent supervises seasonal and year-round staff and is responsible for training staff to meet certifications required to perform their jobs. Trainings include Lifeguard training, CPR/AED, First Aide, etc.
This position provides insight to the Director on new and upcoming programs, publicizes programs through a variety of channels and participates in most programs.
Candidate must have a Bachelor's Degree and 3-5 years of related experience. The ideal candidate should have
-American Red Cross Lifeguard Training and Instructors Certification
-American Red Cross First Aid, CPR and AED Instructors Certification
-considerable knowledge of the rules and strategies of various sports and the equipment needed for athletic and recreational activities
-considerable knowledge of recreational programs and activities as they apply to the participants
- ability to plan, organize and promote programs
-excellent public relation skills
Full time with benefits. Hourly salary range of $28.97-35.88.
