Maintains the safety of children on and off the premises of NARA Park.

 

                Greets children arriving for first day of camp and is engaged and attentive to them at all times.

 

                Assists in emergency situations as needed.

 

                Handles discipline according to the discipline policy for the camp.

 

                Reports all injuries and incidents immediately to the Camp Director and Health Care Supervisor, as appropriate.

 

                Supervises children ages 4-13 years-old in groups.

 

                Work as a team with other Counselors.

 

Assists and participates in planning and implementing activities, group activities, games and sports. 

 

Assist in activities planned and conducted at the beach; may be responsible for individual day’s activities.

 

Demonstrates punctuality in arriving to the Park program on time.

 

Demonstrates enthusiasm and attributes of a positive role model for CIT’s and camp participants.

 

Provides opportunities for Counselors-in-Training to learn supervisory skills and mentors them.

 

Inspires and shows respect and uses appropriate language around children and families.

 

Develops positive relationships with campers and counselors and within the bounds of recreation programs.

 

Participate in pre-season training and staff training which is provided free and without additional compensation.

 

Is courteous, consistent, helpful and informative to parents.

 

Is respectful of parent’s requests/comments.

 

Must be extremely alert and exhibit a high degree of awareness.

 

Interacts positively with parents of children in programs and with other community members encountered in the course of the park program.

 

Performs other duties as assigned by Camp Director.
