Lifeguard

Performs lifesaving and first aid duties and ensures safety of beach patrons at all times

Serve in lifeguard rotation as scheduled; must be able to work weekends

Rotation will include beach monitoring, boat rental assistance, and lifeguard stand

Responsible for daily maintenance of beach, walkway, and patio areas as well as emptying trash cans by the beach

Assist in activities planned and conducted at the beach; may be responsible for individual day’s activities

Enforce beach rules and regulations

Possibly teach American Red Cross swimming lessons

Participate in pre-season training, staff training sessions and conditioning program

Participate in emergency drills and beach activities with NARA Camp

Is courteous, consistent, helpful and informative to beach patrons

May supervise other beach personnel as assigned

Must be extremely alert and exhibit a high degree of awareness

Works as a team player with other staff members

Accepts direction from supervisors

Develops positive relationships with other staff members, patrons and within the boundary of recreation

        programs

May assist with other duties as needed
